RIVERSIDE DRESS CODE

The Henley Royal Regatta is as much a social occasion as it is a sporting event, therefore in the Riverside Enclosure, we require a smart dress code. This is a cherished tradition that reflects the event’s heritage and elegance. For women, this typically means summer dresses, jumpsuits or skirts of modest length (below the knee), often paired with a blazer or smart jacket, and hats or fascinators are optional and encouraged, though not compulsory. Trousers, if worn, should be part of a coordinated suit or ensemble. For men, a lounge suit or a blazer with trousers, shirt and tie is preferred. Rowing blazers are a popular and colourful tradition among club members and alumni. Sportswear, baseball caps, denim, shorts and casual footwear such as trainers or flip-flops are prohibited.

Overall, dressing smartly is part of the Henley experience—it’s an opportunity to embrace the spirit of the Regatta, enjoy the occasion in style, and respect the traditions that make Henley such a unique and celebrated event in the British summer calendar.
